Oval Labradorite Cabochon

This oval labradorite cabochon measures 14.60 × 11.25 x 6.95 mm, and weighs 10.05 CT. The stone exhibits bright electric blue-green-yellow labradorecent flashes, along with a soft needle-glitter-lattice aventurescence that sweeps across the stone in a catseye like manner. The over body color of the stone is a rich grey blue colour with black patches (pyroxene), making it perhaps more sunstone leaning.

Ethically sourced and cut in Canada, the Labradorite comes from the Nain region of northern Labrador, the original discovery area for this iconic feldspar. The rough is collected by local prospector Edmund Saunders or his family. This cabochon is a beautiful example of true Labrador labradorite, perfect for jewellery or a collector seeking material from the stone’s namesake region.
