This small mossy agate was cut from rough agate self-collected from Fife Lake, Saskatchewan. The mossy bits are very delicate in this piece, with small dark dendrites occurring as a nucleus to the growth of a faint white moss. Despite its simplicity at first glance, the cabochon has a lot of depth and dimension. Light passing through this stone causes it to glow orange at the edges; in natural sunlight, the stone is blue-grey when viewed from above.

The cabochon weighs 10.05 CT and measures approximately 14.95 x 6.00 mm.

This material appears to be similar to Madison Blue Agate, which is found in Montana, so it's plausible it was transported from that region by the last glaciation.
