This beautiful oval rich green Canadian serpentine (var. antigorite) cabochon is cut from high grade rough sourced from the Hopedale region of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The material was originally found by local prospector Edmund Saunders and is commonly used by locals in the area for carving. The cabochon weights 10.00 CT and measures 16.25 x 10.15 x 6.60 mm. The hardness of this cabochon is around 5 to 5.5 making it harder then most serpentine and more suitable for jewellery use.
