Pear Shaped Amethyst Cabochon

This beautiful pear shaped, low dome Canadian amethyst cabochon is cut from rough sourced from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The material was originally found by local prospector Josh March, as a damaged amethyst point and has since been cut and polished, here in Canada. The cabochon weights 6.20 CT and measures 18.65 x 9.75 x 4.80 mm. This stone is very faint lavender purple colour due to how thin the stone was cut, but has a lot of pink to magenta undertones depending on the light and an assortment of unusual microscopic hemtatite and goethite inclusions.

These cabochons have a calm, minimalist look that suits wire wrapping, bezel settings, talismans, or collectors who appreciate natural Canadian amethyst.
