This unique corundum cabochon composed of granular sapphire and ruby, originates from Hopedale, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada and was found by a local prospector, Edmund Saunders. It has been shaped into an elegant freeform long drop shaped cabochon measuring 24 mm long, 12 mm wide, and 4.5 mm thick, with a total weight of 5.00 carats.
The stone fluoresces vividly under UV light.
