Drop Shaped Corundum-Sapphire Cabochon

This unique corundum cabochon, composed of granular corundum, originates from Hopedale, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, and was found by a local prospector, Edmund Saunders. It has been shaped into an elegant freeform long drop-shaped cabochon measuring 24 mm long, 12 mm wide, and 4.5 mm thick, with a total weight of 5.00 carats.

The stone fluoresces vividly under UV light.
